Solvo Institute
Resilience is the ability to adapt to changing conditions and environments.
Resilience is the ability to function even in challenging and changing conditions. It doesn't mean things won't go wrong or that we won't experience stress, uncertainty or pain. It means we can adapt, find our footing, draw on others, use our resources and move forward.
At Solvo we understand it as an interplay of 8 dimensions: physical activity and health, mental health, adaptability, cohesion, material security, skills, trust in institutions and values. It is this combination that determines how we manage everyday life pressures and personal, societal, economic or security crises.
Our goal is to help people understand their own resilience, strengthen it consciously and create conditions for a safer, more stable and functional life for individuals, families and society as a whole.
DIMENSIONS
8 dimensions of resilience
Resilience emerges from interconnected areas that mutually influence each other. When one weakens for long enough, it eventually affects the others. Improving one area in isolation is not enough. Resilience grows when multiple dimensions are aligned at once.
